Custom Dress Process

Sometimes the store just doesn’t have the dress you envisioned, and you don’t want to settle. A custom gown allows you to create something truly your own.

Getting Started

Start by gathering inspiration for your garment. Take notes, save photos, or create a Pinterest board of elements you love.

To preserve designer integrity, no gown will be copied exactly. Instead, we use your ideas as inspiration to design something uniquely yours.

Please note: a minimum of two months is required to create a custom garment.

Scheduling Your Consultation

Set up a consultation appointment to begin the design process.
Design consultations are $60 and include a one-hour session focused on concept development, fabric direction, and overall design planning. You’ll also receive a sketch or AI rendering to help visualize your garment. This appointment reserves dedicated design time and preparation. If you need to reschedule, just let us know as soon as possible and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

If you have specific fabrics or colors in mind, please let us know in advance so we can prepare swatches for you to review. If not, that’s okay — we have a selection available to explore together.

A payment of half the total estimate will be due before work begins. Your following appointments will be scheduled at this time.

If your garment will be shipped and fittings are not taking place in-house, a discount will be applied to account for alterations that may need to be completed by another specialist.

Custom wedding gowns typically start around $2,500 and average about $3,500, with alterations included.

THE DESIGN AND FITTING PROCESS

Each custom gown is developed in stages to ensure the best possible fit, structure, and design.

Most custom garments follow this process:

Design Consultation
We discuss your vision, sketch the design, select fabrics, and review pricing.

Foundation Mock-Up
A basic version of the dress is created using simple fabric so we can design the shape directly on your body and establish overall structure and proportions.

Refined Mock-Up Fitting
More detailed elements are shaped and adjusted using fabrics that better represent the final garment. This allows us to contour and refine the design more precisely.

Final Garment Fitting
Your dress is now fully constructed. Minor adjustments are made to perfect the fit and finish.

Pickup Appointment
Your gown is complete and ready to go home with you.

Additional fittings may occasionally be needed depending on design complexity.

Preparing for Your Appointment

To help us design and fit your garment accurately, please plan to bring:

• Shoes (or a similar heel height)
• Undergarments or shapewear you plan to wear

These items help us determine proper length, structure, and proportions from the beginning.

Day of Your Appointment

Please plan to arrive on time for your appointment. If you are running late or need to reschedule, please call or text and we will do our best to fit you into the next available opening.

Appointments typically last about 1 hour.

Most custom garments require:
• One appointment for design
• One appointment for fitting
• One pickup appointment

Additional fittings may occasionally be needed to perfect the final fit.

Pickup Appointment

Please arrive on time for your pickup appointment with your shoes and undergarments so we can ensure the final fit is just right.

Pickup appointments typically last about 30 minutes.

Minor adjustments may occasionally be needed. If so, we’ll schedule a brief follow-up appointment to complete those final details.

If everything looks and feels perfect, you’ll be able to take your garment home with you at that time.

The remaining balance will be due at pickup.

Then all that’s left is enjoying your event!
